User Experience Designer (Level III)

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Simplifying Complex Interactions: Reimagining intricate setup and customization tools—originally crafted for large-scale organizational clients—and transforming them into intuitive, workflow-driven experiences for smaller to medium-sized business markets.
- Streamlining Workflows: Translating complex configuration processes into simplified, guided experiences suitable for a broader audience (e.g., guided setup procedures, question-and-answer forms, intelligent default settings).
- Fostering Collaborative Evolution: Working closely with product strategists, engineering teams, and fellow design professionals to evolve sophisticated systems into modular, reusable interface components.
- Ensuring Adaptable Design: Designing and documenting responsiveness across various display sizes, prioritizing mobile-first interactions without compromising functionality.
- Deconstructing Requirements: Breaking down intricate configuration needs into scalable user experience logic, balancing automated processes with customization capabilities.
- Producing Design Artifacts: Creating preliminary layouts, user navigation paths, interactive prototypes, and final user interface elements that clearly communicate intended interactions.
- Leading Design Initiatives: Guiding or contributing to design workshops or collaborative sessions focused on system simplification and user onboarding.
- Leveraging User Research: Partnering with user research specialists to validate assumptions with actual users and iterate on designs efficiently.
- Championing Consistency: Advocating for design system adherence while also contributing to its ongoing development based on the evolving needs of smaller business clients.
Here’s what our ideal candidate has:
- Over 5 years of experience in User Experience or Product Design, with a proven track record in business-to-business software-as-a-service (SaaS) or platforms with extensive configuration options.
- Experience designing initial user setup flows, guided configuration wizards, or question-based configuration interfaces.
- A deep understanding of adaptable design patterns, mobile user experience considerations, and component-based design systems.
- Ability to abstract complex systems into clear cognitive models and user-centric flows.
- Proficiency in leading design software, along with experience documenting user experience specifications for developer handoff.
- Strong collaborative skills within multidisciplinary teams, especially when working with product managers and engineers.
- Experience with iterative development methodologies.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Background in service design, systems thinking, or projects focused on transforming user experiences for the small-to-medium business sector.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, User Experience, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Advanced user experience training or certifications in systems thinking or enterprise-level user experience is a plus.
