Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team!
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid Schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Pay Rate: $35/hour W2
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Collecting, documenting, examining, and interpreting data and information.
- Contributing to the planning of analyses, presentations, and implementation strategies for intricate analytical tasks or segments thereof.
- Demonstrating proficiency in payroll processes is highly desirable.
- Employing existing models and methods, applying financial modeling and formulas to data.
- Excelling as both an independent contributor and a collaborative team member.
- Collaborating with IT to identify and implementing enhancements to operational finance reports, analytical tools, and self-service functionalities, aiming to boost efficiency and support operational choices.
- Generating comprehensive analyses and reports using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Navigating state websites to process large data files and documenting any state extract discrepancies.
- Formulating recommendations and conclusions from data analysis, with some guidance.
Here's what our ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, etc.
- 1+ year of experience in a professional setting.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, linking spreadsheets, and data truncation (an assessment will be required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interpret and distill data to contribute to strategic and operational objectives.
- A knack for quickly identifying issues and developing solutions.
- Comfortable thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Responsible for tracking and creating key performance metric reports, along with conducting ad-hoc analyses.
