Sr. Java Developer
Type: 6-month contract
Pay rate: $70-80/hour
Agile is partnering with one of our top Atlanta-based clients seeking a Sr. Java Developer to join their team. Are you a seasoned Java Developer with a passion for building scalable and innovative cloud-native applications?
You will play a pivotal part in designing and developing back-end services using Java and the Spring Framework, with a focus on modernizing applications in a cloud environment. You will have the opportunity to work with large data sets, employ Big Data technologies like Big Query, and drive experimentation with cutting-edge technologies to solve business challenges.

You will play a pivotal part in designing and developing back-end services using Java and the Spring Framework, with a focus on modernizing applications in a cloud environment. You will have the opportunity to work with large data sets, employ Big Data technologies like Big Query, and drive experimentation with cutting-edge technologies to solve business challenges.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Designing and developing back-end services using Java, Spring Framework, and SpringBoot.
- Implementing Java code on cloud-native platforms within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
- Modernizing existing applications for cloud compatibility.
- Handling and processing large data sets, exceeding 100 million records, using Java and Big Data technologies.
- Collaborating with the core software engineering team to explore innovative solutions.
- Working in an agile, dynamic environment, emphasizing strong collaboration and communication.
- Partnering with product owners to understand business requirements, design, develop, deploy, and optimize applications.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-stack developer using Java, Spring, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and Spring Boot Microservices.
- Google cloud platform or Amazon Web Services cloud experience
- Experience working on big data projects using Google BigQuery, Hadoop or Databricks
