Job Description
Lead Electronic Verification and Validation Engineer
Location: Dayton, OH | Position Type: 12-Month Contract
This role spearheads the validation of advanced IMUs, antennas, compute platforms, and sensing solutions used in sophisticated off-highway equipment. You will bridge the gap between digital design and physical performance, ensuring electronic systems perform reliably in demanding, real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- DVP&R Ownership: Take proactive ownership of Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) activities from conception through execution.
- Unified V&V Strategy: Establish and execute a unified component/system-level validation strategy across sensors, antennas, and compute platforms.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive strong collaboration across engineering, lab, and program teams to align validation plans with schedules and resources.
- Non-Conformance Management: Track validation failures and utilize technical expertise to influence and drive effective closure of issues.
- Test Coordination: Plan and oversee validation across simulation, lab, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), environmental, and field testing.
- Release Support: Review validation results for accuracy, provide technical risk assessments, and support product release decisions.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related).
- Proven experience developing and executing DVP&R plans within electronic product development.
- Strong background tracking non-conformances and influencing the closure of validation failures.
- Deep knowledge of validation methods, reliability engineering, and risk-based frameworks (FMEA).
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering and lab teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with IMUs, MEMS sensors, RF/antennas, or compute platforms.
- Experience supporting machine guidance and positioning products.
- Background in off-highway equipment, agricultural machinery, or automotive systems.
- Hands-on experience with environmental, durability, or reliability lab testing.
