At Access Data, our healthcare client is seeking an experience IT Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional technology and AI initiatives. This role is responsible for managing complex, large-scale IT and AI implementation projects from initiation through delivery, while partnering close with senior leaders, technical teams, and business stakeholders to delivery measurable business value.
About This Role:
- Contract through EOY (potential for extensions)
- Open to remote but prefer candidates to be in: Malvern, PA / Brentwood, TN / or Denver, CO
- Hybrid schedule: Tues/Wed/Thur on the 2nd week of the month
- Target Pay: $55/hr W2
- Full-time hours, not a part-time contract
- Benefits offered for W2 consultants
Core Responsibilities
- Build trust quickly with project sponsors, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional partners
- Lead end-to-end AI and technology implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and organizational strategy
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage and motivate cross-functional teams of varying sizes, adapting leadership style to project needs
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other technical teams
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation
- Communicate effectively with senior IT leaders and business executives to define scope, plan delivery, and report outcomes
- Manage 2–4 large, complex IT/AI projects simultaneously
- Lead project teams composed of both internal employees and external contractors
- Partner with senior IT and business stakeholders to define scope boundaries and quantify business value
- Represent projects in governance meetings and cross-departmental forums
- Create and maintain project charters, schedules, communication plans, and status reporting
- Manage project change requests and ensure appropriate approvals and documentation
- Own full project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, variance management, accruals, and contingency planning
- Approve project labor and maintain accurate staffing plans in partnership with functional leads
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues
- Remove blockers and escalate issues appropriately to sponsors, PMO leadership, and senior IT leadership to keep projects on track
Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of experience managing IT and AI implementation projects
- Proven track record of delivering complex technology projects successfully
- Strong business and technical acumen
- Excellent stakeholder and expectation management skills
- Adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Ability to learn and navigate complex organizational structures
- Experience with Agile or iterative delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) tools (e.g., Targetprocess)
- Financial management experience using tools such as Apptio and Excel
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of machine learning, ambient listening, and emerging AI technologies
- Experience leading UX/User Experience initiatives
- Background working in a product-centric organization
- Experience managing AI vendors from RFP through implementation
- A PMP or Agile certification
