Job Description

Network Engineer III
Network Infrastructure & Lab Specialist (MTC/HFC Focus)
Long Term Contract
Onsite in Englewood, CO

Our client is an innovative leader in the telecommunications and connectivity space,
delivering advanced video, internet, and voice solutions alongside fiber-based communications, digital advertising, and managed IT services. Their mission is to power reliable, high-performance connectivity experiences for millions of users through cutting-edge technology and continuous innovation.

We are seeking a technical professional who excels in high-stakes Maintenance Technical Center (MTC) and lab environments. This role is designed for a specialist who understands that the foundation of a great network is built on physical precision. You will be responsible for the "heart" of the infrastructure—staging, testing, and maintaining the critical hardware that powers modern connectivity. This position offers the chance to own the physical lifecycle of network equipment, from precision cabling to complex performance validation.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Execute Precision Infrastructure Builds:
Perform professional-grade Layer 1 network construction, including structured cabling (Fiber, Coax, Cat5/6), equipment racking, and meticulous labeling to ensure a scalable and organized lab environment.
Validate Signal Integrity: Utilize advanced diagnostic gear such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Level Meters, and OTDRs to identify ingress, noise, and physical plant issues.
Manage Critical Hardware Staging: Lead the installation and configuration support for ONUs, nodes, amplifiers, and line extenders, ensuring all components are field-ready and meet high performance standards.
Drive Operational Quality: Maintain the MTC as a high-functioning hub by organizing inventory, calibrating test benches, and providing physical troubleshooting support for engineering and field teams.

Our ideal candidate has:

Strong Technical Foundation:
Significant hands-on experience with Layer 1 infrastructure, including coax/fiber termination and an understanding of HFC (Hybrid FiberCoax) network architecture.
Diagnostic Proficiency: Expertise in using plant maintenance tools like DOCSIS meters, sweep gear, and fiber scopes to validate network health.
Detail-Oriented Craftsmanship: A high standard for "pride in build"—valuing clean cable management, accurate documentation, and professional-grade labeling.
Technical Literacy: The ability to follow complex test plans and basic computer skills to support the documentation and staging of network hardware.

About the Environment: This role supports a highly technical maintenance and testing center environment that serves as an operational hub for network maintenance, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support activities. The facility includes technician workspaces, equipment staging areas, network test benches, inventory storage for replacement hardware, and support areas dedicated to fiber, coaxial, and broadband network operations. The ideal candidate understands the importance of maintaining organized, test-ready environments that enable fast troubleshooting, efficient deployment, and consistent operational performance.
