Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Design and develop sophisticated program enhancements using a high-level stack including COBOL, CICS, ADABAS, and VSAM.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to translate high-level requirements into detailed technical blueprints and high-quality code.
- Oversee the performance of complex automated solutions, ensuring quality through rigorous unit and system testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate defects, specifically providing expert-level support for nightly batch processing and production issues.
- Develop detailed action plans, system resolution strategies, and performance projections to guide the future state of the platform.
Here’s what our ideal candidate has:
- 10+ years of deep technical experience in an IBM Mainframe environment with mastery of COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
- Proven hands-on experience managing and programming within ADABAS and VSAM environments.
- A strong understanding of the full SDLC, ITIL service management, and CMMI best practices to ensure high standards of operational support.
- Exceptional skills in critical thinking, flowcharting, and research methodologies to evaluate emerging technologies and APIs.
- The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical peers while building strong, trust-based relationships across the organization.
