Our client is an innovative leader in energy solutions, focused on advancing sustainable technologies. They are seeking a highly skilled Combustion Aerodynamics Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of the reactor subsystem within their cutting-edge generator systems. This hands-on role involves designing complex combustion systems, conducting lab testing, and collaborating across teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Taking ownership of the reactor and oxidation systems, focusing on aerodynamics, fuel/air mixing, heat release, emissions, and performance.
Designing and managing lab facilities for combustion aero system development, testing, and validation.
Leading emissions certification efforts to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Building, testing, and validating prototypes to identify and resolve design flaws.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish requirements and ensure robust designs, while preparing technical reports and conducting reviews.
Here’s what our ideal candidate has:
A bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; an advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is preferred.
At least 10 years of engineering experience, including 5 years in aerospace, power generation, or industrial heating.
Extensive expertise in combustion system development and emissions testing, including experience with gas analyzers and finite-rate chemistry models.
Proficiency in lab testing environments and tools like CANTERA, CHEMKIN, CFD (e.g., ANSYS Fluent or CFX), and NX CAD software.
A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
