Senior Field Application Engineer

Compensation: $130,000 - $170,000

Our client is a leading innovator in clean, flexible, and cost-effective electricity production solutions. Our focus is on advancing distributed power generators that operate on various fuel sources to ensure reliability in today's dynamic energy environment.

As a Senior Field Application Engineer, you will lead technical engagements with customer engineering teams to design and develop solutions for generators used in stationary and mobile power generation. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Sales, and channel partners to deliver efficient, dependable solutions that meet customer requirements and inform future product development.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Proactively engaging with customers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions for power generators.
  • Developing detailed project specifications, pricing, and subcontractor scopes for RFPs/RFQs and project inquiries.
  • Providing engineering data, documentation, and training to facilitate equipment integration at customer sites.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in power generation applications, contributing to product management and engineering teams to enhance the product portfolio.
  • Supporting on-site commissioning of generators, troubleshoot system issues, and provide recommendations for optimal performance.
  • Cultivating strong customer relationships, ensuring installations meet design specifications and comply with industry standards.
Here’s what our ideal candidate has:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a similar application engineering role within the Power Generation industry.
  • Skills: Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, industry standards (e.g., NEMA, NFPA), and emissions regulations. Experience with microgrid design and projects involving natural gas/waste gas is advantageous.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% domestically, with potential for international travel by 2025
